reverberation

sound-installation: organ pipes, dimensions are room-specific, a loop of twelve notes, 2019
In this sound installation, Wenzel arranged discarded organ pipes in a circular formation. Among these mute pipes, twelve tones—once produced by them but no longer resonating—fall within the human vocal range, allowing her to invite alto Nadine Klusacsek to vocalize them. The recordings were made near the original organ to capture not only the restored tones but also the spatial reverberation, giving the faded yet newly sung tones an echo.
